With the motto, ‘We find the fun in anything’, it’s not hard to see that life’s a riot when you’re in the presence of Charlie Astor and George Whitefield, AKA Sharky & George.
Whether through the children’s party circuit, or from their programme of activities installed at The Club last summer, you’ve probably heard of them by now. If not, then it’s only a matter of time before you do.
Busy planning or hosting parties, these guys are hard to pin down. However, we managed catch up with them to get their thoughts on family fun, Peligoni and world domination…
On Peligoni
S&G: We teamed up with Peligoni because we’re the best at water fights, treasure hunts and mischief, so it seemed like we were a pretty good fit.
On the secret to having fun on holiday
S&G: Turn phones off, PLAY (whatever your age), explore and eat local. Water bomb catapulting, treasure hunts, searching for a buried chest on a beach by pirate ship, sea battles and massive games.
On the best game to play as a family
S&G: Tricky question! So many to choose from, a few favourites include:
Boys vs Girls Sand Sculpture Competition,
Think mermaids, turtles, castles and speed boats.
Underwater Karaoke
Everyone in the pool. Choose one person to be the ‘singer’. Everyone goes underwater and the ‘singer’ tries to sing their song. Whoever guesses correctly is the next ‘singer’.
Giant Cluedo
At the start of your holiday, each person takes 3 small bits of paper and writes ‘a thing’ on one, ‘a place’ on the second and ‘their own name’ on the third. Everyone puts each of their bits of paper, folded up, into one of three bowls. Then each person chooses a bit of paper from each bowl. So you will end up with a person’s name, a place and a thing, for example: Daddy, a toothbrush and the swimming pool. You then need to ‘murder’ your person sometime during the week, by handing them the thing in the place that you picked. The winner is the player who avoids being ‘murdered’.
On the most epic party they’ve ever put on
S&G: A secret agent quest to recover the stolen crown jewels. Two helicopters, three speed boats up the Thames, lots of baddies, spy equipment that would rival Q’s best efforts and a motorbike and car chase ending in a showdown and heroic victory of good over bad!

S&G: Under the Sea / UV Neon Disco / Magical Animals
On parties for themselves
S&G: Sharky (Charlie Astor) hosted an EPIC party called The Big Bush Bash. As the name suggests, it was within a massive laurel bush for about 150 people! Big BBQ, dancing under the stars, homemade fireworks display, lots of straw bails and it ‘pushed on till dawn’!
On Daily Rituals
S&G: A meeting in our tree house and a brainstorm in our enormous blue and white ball pit!
On the future
S&G: New York parties / London based children’s membership / the worlds leading children’s programme at Peligoni.
On Sharky & George world domination
S&G: Compulsory chocolate for breakfast. Swings and slides in every house and office building. Weekly sessions for all adults around the world focused entirely on fun and play.
